The 52 Books I Read in 2023
I read another whopping amount of books in 2023 and wanted to immortalize them all in one place, so I have put together this page with all of the book covers and my star ratings.
Mini Reviews (part sixteen)
Welcome to another round-up of my 2023 non-podcast reads.
I know it’s been a while but life has been hectic what with starting a new job and changing our release schedule to have an episode every week. Reading has been much slower as a results, but I am making steady progress and am back to share 5 more books I’ve read outside of the podcast this year.
Mini Reviews (part fifteen)
Welcome to another round-up of my 2023 non-podcast reads.
It has been a month of reading romances, in between my re-read of A Court of Thorns and Roses for our podcast. They’ve been mostly average, but I also read my second 5 star read of the year!
Book Recs: Rivals to Lovers
Let’s look at a hugely popular book trope this week, namely Rivals to Lovers.
My Top Mid-2023 Book Releases
I apologise for the delay in posting this (though, does anyone actually read my blog posts?) but between starting a new job, travelling and adding more and more books to my TBR, I’ve kind of been lacking the inspiration to write on here.
However, there are some new releases I am looking forward to being published between June and August of 2023 so I am back to share them with you.
Mini Reviews (part fourteen)
Welcome to another round-up of my 2023 non-podcast reads.
Reading has been a bit slow for me lately and I was a bit worried I wouldn’t have five new books to review for the blog, but Sierra Simone’s New Camelot Trilogy saved me. I am also continuing with the Shadowhunters series as buddy reads and picking up some steamy romances whenever the sheer size of the fantasy books I am also reading for our podcast become a bit much.
Book Recs: Women in STEM
February 11th marked the 8th International Day of Girls and Women in Science, an observance introduced by the United Nations General Assembly to promote equal opportunities for girls and women around the world to generally under-represented fields like science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Mini Reviews (part thirteen)
Welcome to my first round-up of my 2023 non-podcast reads.
It was a slow start to the year but things picked up half-way through January when I reached for my trusty romances - they rarely disappoint and are usually an easy, quick read.
Book Recs: Friends to Lovers
A new recurring blog topic I would like to introduce is book recommendations based on specific tropes. Before starting the podcast I was a stranger to the concept of tropes, but now I see them everywhere!
Mini Reviews (part twelve)
Welcome to the final round-up of my 2022 non-podcast reads.
We recorded our final podcast episode of 2022 in the middle of December and I somehow managed to finish another 4 books before the year’s end. It was a mish-mash of genres, mostly books I had started a while back and just wanted to finish.
The 104 Books I Read In 2022
I read a personal record-breaking number of books in 2022 and wanted to immortalize them all in one place, so I have put together this page with all of the book covers and my star ratings.
My 2022 Reading Stats
There is no denying now that we are firmly in the year 2023, but before I share with you my goals for this year I would like to take a final look back at 2022.
My Top Early-2023 Book Releases
I spent today perusing Goodreads, specifically to find out what books will be releasing early next year, and was happy to see a lot of my favourite authors will have new novels coming out soon.
Mini Reviews (part eleven)
Listeners of the podcast might remember our Season 4 episode Luxuria, in which Corrie and I read our first monster romance. I don’t think either of us expected to really like it, but we were both pleasantly surprised. Before recording said episode, I had compiled a list of other potential books to cover and in the intervening months I read some of them and I have included them in this post. I also read the newest Tessa Bailey, a Katee Robert book about vampires and a disappointing threesome romance.
Mini Reviews (part ten)
This time I dip my toe into reverse harem romance, start listening to the Aurora Cycle on my runs and pick up one of my top anticipated releases of 2022.
Mini Reviews (part nine)
I continue to make my way through the Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert, as well as taking part in some buddy reads hosted by @buddyreadbooknook.
Mini Reviews (part eight)
If you have been reading my reviews, you will know that I struggled with the Dark Olympus series by Katee Robert. However, her Wicked Villains series - a retelling of famous Disney movies, but with the villains as the main characters - has been very sexy and a lot of fun.
I also finished the wonderful Infernal Devices trilogy and started another Y.A. Fantasy series.
Mini Reviews (part seven)
I started the next chapter of the Shadowhunters series, which I am reading as part of a buddy read hosted by @buddyreadbooknook on Instagram. It has been a lot of fun discovering and discussing this world with all the lovely people. I also read the newest Dark Olympus installment and finally brushed off a book that’s been on my TBR for over two years.
Mini Reviews (part six)
I took a small break from Shadowhunters to catch up on some new contemporary rom-com releases. I also finally read a book from my Owlcrate subscription box and started a popular series by a new-to-me author.
Mini Reviews (part five)
This was the summer I decided to jump on the Cassandra Clare bandwagon, despite being terribly overwhelmed by the sheer amount and length of her books. The Shadowhunters series started coming out in 2008, when I was already at university and so I completely missed out on the craze.
